Behind the lens
It started in a darkroom. For a few years as a school kid I lived in America, and that's where photography first got hold of me — a class with old film cameras, shooting all day, then processing the rolls ourselves in the dark. Watching an image come to life in front of me opened my eyes. Not just photography, but capturing something and watching it become real.

I moved back home to Hull, and that early spark turned into film and photography at Wyke College here in East Yorkshire — and now my work. My style is raw and cinematic — I care more about something feeling real than looking staged, but raw doesn't mean rough. The cinematic side is deliberate: lighting, angles, lens choice, the edit.

On set, I'm a people person — fun, but professional, and I keep clients in the loop the whole way through. I'll also tell you the truth early: if something needs more time to be done right, I'll say so before the camera's out.

A Vogue-featured clothing label who came to me to elevate their presence beyond what social alone was doing. When the schedule got tight, I told them straight: real quality needs the time to do it properly. They trusted the call, the work spoke for itself — and they've since booked a second, more creative shoot with me in London.
